GIVAUDAN SHUTS DOWN ZURICH FACILITY ONCE THEY FOUND EMPLOYEES TESTED POSITIVE FOR CORONAVIRUS


Givaudan has shut down a Kemptthal-based facility after one of its employees tested positive for coronavirus, according to a report published by Reuters.
Some 400 employees have been told to work from home. A spokesperson for the company told Reuters that the closure was precautionary and would remain in effect until further notice.

The flavors and fragrances manufacturer has also announced that its AGM, due to be held on March 25, 2020, will be limited to the statutory meeting with reduced attendance by Givaudan representatives and employees. The company is also urging shareholders not to attend in person after the Swiss Federal Council moved to restrict large public gatherings (currently effective through March 15).
As Europe attempts to contain and delay the spread of coronavirus several offices, schools and public buildings are closing to limit exposure, especially where a case has been confirmed.
